The owners of this classic mountain cabin understand your need to economize, but at the same time, want to get away from all those financial pressures down the hill and unwind. That's why they have maximized the sleeping capacity at Apple Jacks so more of your friends or family members can join you in Big Bear to share the costs. The master bedroom contains a large king bed, while the second bedroom holds two full beds that can accommodate two couples or four children. In addition, the owners have moved another full bed into the downstairs den so the cabin's sleeping capacity has been expanded from 6 to 8. Also, if a ninth friend wants to come along to share expenses, there's a very large sofa in front of the fireplace that's quite comfortable.

This is the kind of cabin you all will enjoy. It's location within walking distance of Bear Mountain Ski Resort can't be beat. You can also walk to the Moonridge Animal Park, where a number of four-legged friends who inhabit this area of the San Bernardino Mountains are on display. After all, you can't leave Big Bear without telling your friends back home that you saw a live one or two while here on the mountain. There's also a vacant lot next door for the kids to enjoy the snow, and numerous there are hiking trails nearby if you want to try some snowshoeing.

After an active day on the slopes or enjoying these other physical exercises, you will welcome the opportunity to slip into the soothing waters of the large spa on the back deck. Or break out a bottle of wine to sip in front of the fireplace while dinner simmers in the well-equipped kitchen. If no one is interested in cooking, there are numerous food choices in restaurants along Moonridge Road, just a mile or two from the cabin. Another few minutes' drive will take you along the shores of the lake or into the quaint Big Bear Village, where an even wider choice of eating establishments can be found.
